About Us
The Shelter Valley Pines Men’s League is one of the strongest leagues in Northumberland county. The league boasts over 130 local members who play for both the competitive nature of the sport and the mere amusement of the game. The league caters to both the scratch golfer and the 30 handicapper by incorporating games and competitions that all players have a chance to win. Players have the option to play 9 holes or 18 holes depending on their preference. The league is unique in that it runs on both Tuesday and Thursday night allowing players to jump between nights to accommodate shift work or even poor weather.
As a league member, players enjoy discounted rates and have their player stats calculated. The stats show a players handicap, a players league ranking based on their handicap, a players movement in the rankings based on their previous week’s play, putting average and where they stand in our three points races.. All stats are posted online so players can check their progress over the weekends.
Members are also rewarded with a mid summer and year end tournament where players may win prizes, enjoy a great meal and socialize with other members. Another tournament that players are automatically entered into is a Fantasy Match Play Tournament where matches are played on a weekly basis in a match play format.
On a week to week basis members also enjoy menu specials, a chance to win weekly competitions that include closest to the pins, longest drives etc, 50/50’s and other great contests. |
